The successor Nike Dunks Project came to Pittsburgh in the mid-1950s. Named for the Greek goddess of victory, the anti-aircraft missile system the Army developed consisted of a site for radar and a launch to house missiles. The two components were located within miles of each other and staffed by Army personnel and Guard units.

Well now Nike has taken it to another level but calling Charles Barkley to ask him to tone it down concerning his treatment of James.  Barkley has actually always been a fan of Lebron's on the court play but soured last summer on James off the court demeanor after witnessing the debacle known as the Decision. 
The synthetic field consists of 111,165 square feet of Astroturf. The entire expansion is 20 acres, bringing the entire complex, named after one of 18 Nike Air Defense Systems from the Cold War, to just over 45 acres.

Piszynski stressed the timeliness of the construction, saying, “we’re on time,” and guaranteed the quality of the work.

“We met the goals and expectations the residents have … the quality is a reflection on us,” he said.

The complex is scheduled to open for use July 16.

Piszynski pointed out that the expansion definitely fills a need for the district.

“The north side of town is a little more land-locked,” he said. “There isn’t as much opportunity for these types of programs up here.”

A recent incident of “tagging” on the complex main building won’t delay the project’s completion.

He joins an impressive group of stars who also just signed with Nike – A.J. Green (Georgia), Nick Fairley (Auburn) and Patrick Peterson (LSU) – all of whom are expected to be first-round picks. There’s a possibility Williams could be taken in the late first round (the last Tech first-rounder was offensive tackle Duane Brown in 2008), but most NFL draft “gurus” believe he’s going to be selected anywhere from early second round to early third. It would be shocking if he goes any lower.
“We’re feeling really optimistic,” Williams’ agent, Malik Shareef, said Monday night. “We’re still a little unsure about where exactly he’ll end up, but we’ve spoken to over half of the 32 teams in the NFL. He’s worked out for five teams and visited another five teams. A lot of teams are showing serious interest. We believe he could go from the late first round to the early second.”
Shareef said he doesn’t expect Williams to fall lower than the second round, mentioning the trio of first-round running backs in 2010 – C.J. Spiller at No. 9, Ryan Mathews at No. 12 and Jahvid Best at No. 30 – saying, “I hate to be biased, but they’re not better than Ryan Williams.” Shareef also believes that, along with the positive feedback he’s getting from NFL teams, the invite to New York and the new Nike endorsement deal are pointing to good news in the draft.

Shoreline Still In Jeopardy

Global sportswear brand Nike Dunks Running by Sweatshop welcomed the first customers to its new outlet in Princesshay yesterday.
"We just learned last weekend that the money has been set aside by the province, and when the water level is settled, which presumably will be after next winter, at a sufficiently low level then they are, we anticipate, start the remedial work cycle," says Elbow resident Bill Nike.
Nike says they had hope something would have been done this winter, but they are happy with the response of the Province, "It hasn't worked out that way and I think we're just comfortable and confident, at the moment, that all of our overtures to Regina have been positively responded to," adds Nike.  "While we locally are impatient to see something happen, at least we have a statement of intent."
Nike Dunks SB adds that water levels haven't done any additional damage since the spring thaw began, but says if the levels do rise it could speed up the erosion process.
Nine staff – all keen runners – have been hired to work there, and store manager Rona Butler said they had been busy getting the shop ready to open since Tuesday.
"It's been long days but definitely worth it," she said. "Running is becoming bigger and bigger all the time and it's great to be open after months of planning."

Law360, New York (April 22, 2011) -- Sports gear manufacturer Point 3 Basketball Inc. sued Nike Inc. on Thursday in New York for allegedly infringing its trademarked logo by putting a virtually identical design on its new Dwyane Wade-endorsed Air Jordan sneakers.
The basketball athletic apparel company targeted Nike's decision to use a highly similar stylized number three on its upcoming Dwyane Wade shoe, which is set to go on sale in early May.
Nike LeBron reps were in town this week to lead a group of University of Texas students through one of the workouts. One dropped by the newspaper office to show me how to use the app, called the Nike Training Club.
If you can’t afford a personal trainer, the Nike Training Club is about as close to a good substitute as it gets. And — important to me — it’s intuitive and easy to use on an iPad.

Once the app is on your iPad, you can choose from beginner, intermediate or advanced workouts. A couple dozen options are available under each category.
The workouts are geared toward women, with super-fit athletes illustrating correct form in everything from easy jogging to squats.
