Brooklyn Projects x Nike SB Dunk High Preview

It is funny sometimes how much a slight change can make a huge difference in a pair of shoes. Sneaker customizers definitely know this but still they usually end up making a whole lot of changes to a shoe before they are done with it. In some cases though all it takes is just a little bit of alterations to take an already great shoe and turn it into something truly spectacular. Today we are going to be taking a look at a little change going a very long way, this is the new Nike LeBron 8 Blackout Infrared Custom.
Despite what the title may suggest, these shoes bear no inspiration from any projects, MARCY or otherwise in Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Projects x Nike Dunks SB High is actually the brainchild of the good folks at the California couture shop, Brooklyn Projects. The Los Angeles-based shop opted for a frayed look at the toe-box and quarter panel which came out quite nice. The suede is meant to look as if it were smeared with blood, and is juxtaposed with a smoother leather swoosh. The other defining features of these Dunks come by way of the denim heel, and the wax-coated laces. The rustic feel these kicks espouse gives the effect of making them look years worn the day you crack open the box. The look has been achieved by Nike before and as with the previous experiments, this kick is sure to be polarizing, with fans and critics. While there is no word on price point nor release date, it has been rumored these are limited to 814 pairs. The shoes are sure to be highly sought after, so get a look look and decide for yourself if they’re worth the pursuit.
This shoe before started out in all black but all it took was the addition of infrared in a few key places and the shoe has been drastically improved upon. Take a closer look at it and tell us what you think about the new look of this Nike Dunks shoe.
