Drico Johnson, Nick Patti earn MVPs at Tallahassee Nike training camp

If no one knew who Drico Johnson was before Sunday’s Nike Football Training Camp on the Florida State campus, they will be hearing more about him soon enough.

College coaches who have had Johnson on their radar have begun to realize their worst fears. He’s no longer a secret.
Patti threw for 2,390 yards and 32 touchdowns last season, but many seniors have departed. Players like Gallon, and Pat Fenlon and Demetrius Hart, three of the top four DP receivers, are gone. Patti, however, looks like he might just have plenty of firepower surrounding him.

“Those are two huge additions for us,” Patti said of Griffey and Johnson. “We lose a couple of talented receivers, but we’re retooling and we’ll be better than ever and we’ll be airing that thing out this year.”
The former Orlando Agape Christian wide receiver who has transferred to Dr. Phillips High, was impressive on Sunday. Impressive  enough to be named the wide receiver MVP at the camp and it’s likely just a window into the future for the 6-foot, 200-pound star.
